The Italians have La Dolce Vita - A Beautiful Life.  That is what we try to create and inspire at Go Outside. 

For me, Go Outside is more than shelves and displays. It is a gathering of objects meant to be lived with — new cookbooks that become well-worn, sturdy garden tools that gather flecks of dirt over time, Barbour jackets that are worn season after season. Its beautiful linen napkins strewn on the dinner table after feasting with friends. Its thoughtful gifts and pieces that quietly become part of daily rituals. And its community. Its friendly faces and neighbors that stop in for chats.  A place to inspire a beautiful life. A patina’ed life.

The Go Outside Blog is an extension of that spirit.

I’ll share inspiration for living beautifully. We’ll tour my favorite places in Skagit Valley from restaurants, to walks, to shops. We’ll talk about seasonal gardening, cooking, traveling, and creating homes that feel warm, welcoming, and well lived in. It won’t be about perfection, not even close :-) but living beautifully, in the everyday.

I hope this online space feels like stepping into the shop or my house and having a chat.  Each Saturday will be a new post focused on a monthly theme. With the Daffodil and Tulip season just around the corner, I’m starting March with a food tour of the Skagit Valley - the Go Outside Restaurant Guide. It's one of my most asked questions in the shop: where do you like to eat? So I’ll answer in depth on the blog.
